About Us
DW Utility Services Ltd began life as DW Communications Ltd. Formed in 1999 by Dan and Kathleen Walsh, the company was based in Danganmore, Bandon, Co Cork – offering a service throughout Ireland for the cabling and jointing of telecommunications cables.
In 2006, Ciaran McSweeney joined Dan Walsh as co-owner of the company, and by 2009, due to the increased volume of work being undertaken outside of the telecommunications industry, the company was re-named DW Utility Services Ltd; reflecting the wide range of utility services we offer to a variety of clients in the many sectors of the industry.
DW has grown to provide utility services to Government bodies, local councils, mainstream utility providers like ESB and Irish Water, building contractors and private homeowners.
Moving into our new purpose built facility in late 2013 gave DW Utility Services Ltd a 17000sq.ft warehouse and office building with an additional 25000sq.ft yard, meaning that all plant, equipment and machinery can now be kept in one central location in Bandon, still within easy reach of major road networks connecting to Cork and the whole of Ireland. For our contracts in Cork County where we provide a 2 hour response time our new location is central to all parts of the county and has proved to be an ideal base from where contractual time limits are easily achieved.
Now established for over fifteen years we believe there are three key elements which have contributed to the growth of our business and the continued custom of our clients:-
• Safety First – we are fully compliant and adhere to all health & safety regulations showing high regard for both the public and our workforce and we are currently preparing our application for OHSAS 18001:2007.
• Quality Service – we aim to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations on every job and are currently finalising our application for ISO 9001:2008. As part of our commitment to quality we also provide environmental training to all staff and are again finalising our application for ISO 14001:2004 as environmental management is now critical for all clients.
• Excellent Customer Relationships – we provide solutions, commit to quality and deliver on our promises
At DW Utility Services Ltd we have the knowledge and the expertise to meet the most challenging projects head-on; whether it’s a tight schedule, harsh weather conditions, complex technical requirements or dealing with the public, both pedestrian and vehicular in restrictive situations.
Our staff are, for the most part, long term employees with a wealth of experience and training behind them; clearly visible in the professionalism shown with every client, big or small. All sub-contractors who work with us are hand-picked; selected on their skill, experience, and commitment to representing DW Utility Services in the same professional manner as our staff.
We have many ongoing assignments with clients like:- ESB Networks, Cork County Council, Sierra, Irish Water, Mainline Group, Bon Secours Hospital, Dyno Rod, Pinnacle Homes and many more.
Working very closely with the Local Authorities and An Gardaí; we ensure all works are carried out to the highest standards and at suitable times causing minimum disruption to the public.
